Since 2006, the Farbglashuette Lauscha has supported Nordic Ski Combination competitor Michael Schuller a native of Lauscha who trains in Oberhof. This young man achieved second place overall in the DSV Students’ Cup, in his age class 14/15 in 2007, and eighth place over all in the German National competition.

In the 2008/2009 season, he started off with two second place finishes in the German National competition in Rastbüchl.

Jennifer Wolf from Neuhaus is the newest athelete in the group of atheletes supported by the Burger Group of companies. Jennifer is supported by Lauscha Fiber. The young athelete trains at Oberhof. During the pre-season race on the first weekend in December, in Oberwiesenthal, she placed fourth overall in the free style. Jennifer will compete in the Continental Cup, and for the 2008/09 season, has races in Italy, Austria, Slovenia, and Germany. Her goal is a top place standing in the Junior World Championships in February 2009.
